I just got the wonderful news that the screening at Queensland University on May 11, 2011 was a big success. More than 100 people came to the Australian premiere and we raised $1500 to send to people in Japan suffering the aftermath of the earthquake and the tsunami. It will be sent to the Sendai City Council who will get the money to families in need. Thank you Bob for organizing it and thanks to all who came and donated. Attendees said, “I was really impressed with the quality of the documentary; it was put together with great craftsmanship. The filmmaker is to be great commended for this and her dedication to awareness of the run and its message.” R. Langford “Strongly moving, flawless performance. Genius.” D. Williams “I just wanted to let you know how enlightened I was by this film last night. It was very inspiring and was just what I needed to remind me of my hippie roots and remember what really is most important in this life.” B. Ward ~ Andrea Sadler ~ Japan is still suffering from the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster. Bob Reed, one of the runners portrayed in the film, was inspired to organize a fundraising screening event to raise money for the victims on Wednesday, May 11 at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. I wish I could be there to accompany the film but I am very happy that it will be shown in Australia for the first time to raise money for those who need it in Japan. Dragonfly Films presents a 55 minute documentary by Andrea Sadler American Indian leader, Dennis Banks, with First Nation people from North America and Japan, were joined by volunteers from 13 countries on a ceremonial run finishing in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The filmmaker, Andrea Sadler, joined the run, with camera in hand, to present a remarkable physical and spiritual journey of a diverse group of all ages, who voyaged 4,000 km along the Sea of Japan to carry the simple message, that All Life is Sacred. The film is a stunning inspirational portrait of individuals committed to promoting peace, encouraging respect for the earth and all life, and to sharing the rich cultural diversity of the human race. “ I hear everywhere, sure, I want peace, but how? The Sacred Run, the lotus and the feather, provides a map, a marvelous map indeed! Take your passion for peace, sprinkle it with your interests and culture in a way that seduces others around the world to join in and embrace the love of all people, everywhere. Patch Adams, MD, Founder of The Gesundheit Institute, Arlington, VA “Few videos or films capture my attention as did Andrea Sadler’s film, The Sacred Run, the lotus and the feather. Not only because of the subject matter but because of how it was filmed and edited. Andrea Sadler will be around making films for many years. I’m anxious to see her next project!” Dennis Banks, AIM leader & Co-Founder of The Sacred Run & The Longest Walk 1 & 2 www.sacredrun.org, www.longestwalk.org “The Sacred Run, the lotus and the feather” is one of most inspiring, powerful, awesome depictions of a sacred journey of hope, love and beauty.” Pamela Rickenbach |
